Collaborating to create healthier buildings

Education is at the heart of our ethos. It’s through education that we will learn and move forward together to make healthier buildings for all New Zealanders. Whether you’re a designer or a builder, a consultant or a supplier – we have something to support your goals. Our programme also includes education sessions for consumers and homeowners.
And if you’re someone with an important message to share – we have the facilities and network to give you an audience.

WUFI® Training

The WUFI® Software suite is a powerful set of tools for analysing the risk of moisture issues within building elements.

WUFI® provides hygrothermal analysis - the combined analysis of both heat and moisture flows. In conjunction with local climate data and building material data, hygrothermal analysis allows for the prediction of moisture accumulation within building elements, while still in the design stage.

At the pro clima HUB we're pleased to offer three levels of WUFI® training, facilitated by WUFI® expert and Pro Clima Technical Manager, Jesse Clarke.

WUFI® Basics (1D)

Introduction to the science of coupled heat and moisture analysis and material properties. This one day course provides a foundation for practitioners wanting to know how hygrothermal analysis works, when to request it, and how to interpret the results.

WUFI® User (1D)

This two day course provides competency in one dimensional hygrothermal modelling of building elements such as walls, roofs and floors using WUFI® Pro. The course includes WUFI® Basics (1D) as day 1 and is suitable for practitioners wishing to offer WUFI® 1D modelling services.

WUFI® Advanced (2D)

This three day course provides competency in two dimensional hygrothermal modelling of building structures using WUFI® 2D. The course includes WUFI® Basic (1D) (day 1) and WUFI® User (1D) (day 2). The advanced course is suitable for those wanting to provide specialist analysis of complex details such as building connections and thermal bridges.

The pro clima Seminar Series

The pro clima Seminar Series is a modular curriculum of workshops for people interested in the science and application of weathertightness and airtightness in building systems.

Workshops are designed to combine theory with practice. Where appropriate, modules make use of hands-on training in the pro clima HUB workshop space to reinforce the theory and ensure you can apply the learning directly into real projects.

The programme begins with a broad foundation of building science, covering topics such as heat versus temperature, and relative versus absolute humidity. Participants can then select from a range of modules that cover various aspects of building envelope performance.

A Brief History of Building

Why have building practices around the world advanced to produce high quality homes while here in New Zealand we’ve mostly stood still?

It’s Not Rocket Science. It’s Building Science

The fascinating fundamentals of building science and what it all means for your building, your budget and your health.

Building Performance and Blower Doors

What exactly is a Blower Door and why is it one of the best tools we have for measuring building performance?

Coffee Thursday – Bring Your Own Plans & Questions

Every Thursdays morning, the pro clima HUB hosts open sessions for anyone to come and ask technical questions. If you’ve got a challenging detail, a building performance question, or just want some building envelope design inspiration, join us every Thursday morning between 9am and 11am.

You bring the questions. We’ll provide the experts – and the coffee!
